The feature to invite friends from Facebook (and other social services) is planned and will be implemented in coming releases, within about 1 week. It will be built into the product and will not depend on any other addon.

This is an update to the first version of the product based on feedback we got from our customers and community members.

At first, we have redesigned admin options page to have simple switch between invitation system and paid registration system. When invitation system is active there are no mentions of paid packages neither in Admin Panel not for end-user.

could there be a discount for an already registered member who invites other people to sign-up and purchase a subscription ?

e.g.:
"if you invite 3 new members who purchase a 6-month-subscription to our Forum, you will receive 4 months of free access to our Forums...."

This is a really good idea. Great for virally spreading your site!!!
 
Is it possible to add domain rules to this, like if I only want college students on my site you have to sign up with a .edu address or something?

well, I know of small Forums which have grown their membership to well over 100k members based on this viral concept alone.
And you need to give your existing members some sort of "incentive" ("benefit") in order for them to invite their friends, which in the end will benefit both the existing members and also the new members.

Is there an option with this, so the user can register normally FREE or pay for a premium membership? Like two options on registration?

This is possible now by disabling invite-only registration, and giving users a link to purchase any of current packages. However, we will consider to upgrade the product to allow free packages, and this will be possible without any manual links. Today we are releasing a minor update with email domain restriction feature, will consider this addition in coming 24-48 hours.
