It would be awesome if you could add cumulative trophy support for Daily Login Streak by @Painbaker.

Every login adds a set trophy point, every full week, every full month, etc.

Analysing the database to detect logging in every day for a week would, I’m sure, be quite a significant query. If the login streak addon saves streaks in to the database so that it’s easy to count them, then the toll on the database would be much smaller.
So whether this idea is feasible depends on how the streak addon works.

Trophy Essentials has been created to allow extending to add new cumulative trophy types. If the streaks addon author wants to extend trophy essentials with the installation of his addon, then that’s fine by me.

kinda makes sense.

(1) you want people to read them.
(2) you have a record of them at least reading them when they dont follow them. "I never knew that".

These are milestones rather than cumulative actions.

Is it possible to add "Thread views" as a cumulative trophies option?

Do you mean award a (fraction of a) trophy point every time someone views your thread or for each time you view any thead?
The first is rewarding you for creating a thread with a more intriguing title so that more people click to open it.
The latter is rewarding you just for opening threads.
I imagine both are possible but wouldn’t recommend either.

For a start, both could get very big numbers, so to have an appropriate value compared to the that of creating a thread, they would both have to be worth a tiny fraction of a trophy point.
Second, the points could be awarded very frequently (especially with the second option) creating more of a load on the server and they could potentially create lots of trophy award alerts.
Thirdly, for the first option, we would probably not want to count views of your own thread because you could abuse the system by opening your own thread many times. So that would mean keeping a separate count of thread views which don’t include you. Which is an added burden.

If you want to reward people for creating a good thread, then we have that covered with the trophies awarded for positive reactions.

Rewarding people for something as trivial as opening any thread would lead to abuse of the system because people would open lots just to get their points up.

So while I understand where you’re coming from with either suggestion, I wouldn’t implement them.

@Wutime - I apologize in advance for what are probably dumb questions... I have the mod installed on my 2.2 board and do not have 'Trophy Essentials' installed. I am using all 6 parameters because our board is not a huge one. We have the sidebar widget active on our homepage at BGObsession.com.

My questions are, i was expecting the mod to run once a month and using those 6 parameters, to calculate the leaders based on that months activity (given the mod name is 'Top Monthly Contributors'). But the mod is set to 'refresh' frequently - and the ranking of folks seems to be changing multiple times (I assume with every 'refresh'?). So it it really a 'rolling month' (rankings for the past 30 days each time it refreshes)?

And early on in this thread you mention that if we don't have Trophy Essentials installed, members will never get a trophy more than once. That seems odd to me if so. We want a more static list where folks, as an example, can shoot to unseat the #1 person in a coming month, or move up from position 5 to position 4.

Like I said, I am confused. It's probably easier than I am making it. It is a very well-developed mod but I think with so many options it can be confusing to the new user. Any clarity on the above is appreciated!
