Submit your site to the official customer showcase!

There are various criteria used: size, activity, styling/design, genre leader, innovativeness, uniqueness, etc.

As I have mentioned previously, my own site would never make the cut as it's none of those, but I blame that on the biased moderator dealing with it.

Damn you Brogan!

Never received any email regarding my forums which I’ve submitted on showcase page. One is approved, another , no idea …

You sound bitter and entitled. This is not an attractive quality. Feel free to review our policy.
I’m actually here with @JoyFreak , I had an on line game ages ago, and somehow my files were stolen and shared on your forum. Anyway, what’s right for someone may be wrong for others.

Same if I would run a charity forum on nulled XenForo board, would be wrong for Xenforo but right for members. :)

I don’t think there is a strict rules about showcasing Your board on Showcase, wouldn’t be surprised if I’ll see a porn site running on active XF license)))))).

what game was it? Often times human error causes leaks or former disgrunted employees. The hacks that generally circulate within our aura tend to be from CN/RU based actors (which is why 95% are of Chinese translations). Those more localised (US) get caught. You can pm me information if you wish.

I also have a DMCA process that I follow even if its outside our legal jurisdiction.

I wish your paid premium files to be stolen and shared online, so I can laugh too pal.

At the time, there were nothing in place. Nevermind.

What I'm saying is, that XenForo should put in place some strict rules for showcasing forums.

So customers don't have to think that their board have been "discriminated".

But hey, that's XenForo. Nothing serious.

They can showcase whoever they like. We are a legitimate development forum that has helped countless people in life, regardless of what others say. I am proud of being able to help people, and I will continue to do so for as long as I walk this earth. Equating an entire community as a plethora of pirates is also not fair to those who are simply learning. I am slightly confused by something being leaked, but also, you having nothing in place? People tend not to leak content that has no bearing on a community, especially if there is nothing in place.

Heres an idea.

They review, accept and publish everyones. They then have a seperate category/flag/banner/whatever for 'Select' communities that they feel meets their criteria and showcases their brand. Replace the term, 'Select' with 'Featured', 'Favoured' etc.

That way everyone's happy. You submit your site, get it displayed all pretty with your images/whatever and then if you're lucky, you get it featured. Much better than a node/forum.

Meh

Are you suggesting something different or? The showcase isn't a forum it's a whole section of the homepage dedicated to sites running xenforo. It's not a "showcase your forum" node

Sorry for the confusion. Someone up above/elsewhere in this thread said that if people want to 'showcase' their forum with a guaranteed listing, such as a directory - then they should post in a specific node/forum for that on XF.

I've said 'Much better than a node/forum' - referring to my idea on how this could be, rather than the former. Hope that makes sense.

I said similar to that (but nothing about a directory, that was a separate comment)... and guess what exists as for a node?

The showcase in question is not a "directory listing"... but a set of sites that were (or will be) determined to show where XF excels. And as with any business... that decision on what showcases the best features of their product is determined by the business.. not a popularity contest.
For what you reference, there is a fantastic add-on by a excellent developer that is available.. but it goes against the nature of what the XF site itself is designed for.. to showcase the 1st party extensions and abilities.
Now, could XF benefit from a link directory add-on... sure... but I seriously doubt what they would create would exceed what is available... so why re-invent the wheel just to quieten a squeak?

Am I talking in a new undiscovered language or something? Go read my post again. I know that exists, I was simply offering an idea on how the current 'Showcase', relative to this thread - could be improved - and further stated that that would be a much more valid, viable and fun way of displaying someone's personal site than using the 'Forum showcase and critiques' forum. I'm definitely tired, but reading it back - it still makes sense to me.

And there are a wealth of places where you can do that currently.
And I'm pretty sure I clearly stated that

XF doesn't have a tendency to overly extend themselves on stuff when their push is off onto 3rd party developers to create needed extensions... so it's highly unlikely they would
#1 - create such here just to quieten a few squeaky wheels
or
#2 - run a 3rd party add-on on the official site just to quieten a few squeaky wheels

They have created an ability based upon the 1st party offering for members to showcase their sites.

Honestly, I think people are way overthinking this. XenForo wants to make a showcase to advertise certain sites in exchange for advertising the capabilities of their software. You may or may not qualify under those terms. That's pretty much all there is to it. I get it. It sucks if you don't get picked, but if you really don't like it, you can perhaps make your own list of curated forums like we have.

In any case, the XF Showcase should not be your only source of advertisement for your site. It's just a very nice bonus.
