A lot of users nowdays post with a mobile device and somehow have their images rotated. They see that but post anyway. It would be nice if they can easily rotate the image.

Except for cases there users are modifying photos with braindead software (eg. software that does rotate the image without removing or adjusting EXIF rotation info) this should not be an issue; XF does rotate images automatically if required when procesing

I have installed your addon! Thanks for that. Problem now is that i have cached images. So after turning you have to Control F5 to see it, and users who visited the page have to do the same.

Do you have any add-ons or modifications that might be affecting the uploads and reading EXIF data? Because it should not be happening especially regularly.

Well ... phpBB 2 definitly did not handle EXIF rotation, so if this is what you've used until recently it is quite understandable that you did have such issues.
Nevertheless, as said this should not happen with XF 2; if it does it needs to be investigated.

Then you should be okay for images that have the exif data going forward.

The problem is that if you shoot the photo the wrong way, the exif-data is also wrong.

This may happen exactly if you hold your phone or tablet parallel to the motive and didn't hold it exactly horizontally or vertically before that.

Xenforo rotates it correctly but the exif-data is wrong.

You see the photos with wrong orientation in your photo-roll.

Odd's say they're using iOS and selecting to reduce the quality before uploading. When they do this it "strips" the info from the photo so your server doesn't really know how to display it. We too saw this frequently and have installed Andy's plugin, but we also edited the "or_click_here phrase to instruct users NOT to reduce the quality or an error will occur. Since we edited the phrase we've seen a noticeable improvement.
