Tested on PHP 5.3 and 5.4, no issue. Almost certain it is clashing with some addon.

Edit: I'll test on 5.2

You have to choose a criteria for that field, default is Message Count

That is the idea with this new version. Add whatever criteria you want.

As long as you know the table and column in which the field is stored, there isn't much work. What field would you like to add?

Ah, if you want to use that field (The one in your post), first I need to know, what is the field_id?

I have a user custom field that contain the 'state' of the user.
This custom field exist in xf_user_field_value table under the field_value column with the label 'in_provincia_di'

Anyways, it would require you to add a column to xf_user or xf_user_profile and a CRON job to update it. Then you can use that column.
