Not really, just right now I'm finishing up something else that's a little more important. I think Beta 4 will come probably around early December.

I'll announce things in a week or so that'll make things much more solid.

Ok thats great news - looking forward to it

Looking forward to the next version of the blog, but Spring is a bit far away. An early beta wouldn't hurt <WINK>
Will we be able to set a route? The old system used /articles/ and they'd love to remain that path rather than going with /blog/

The Spring estimate's for the Blog 1.1. I'm hoping to get 1.0 stable before the end of the year.

It's unlikely routes will be changeable anytime soon, though.

In light of the recent announcement, I'd like to immediately clarify what will happen with the blog. To get the obvious out of the way, yes, it will now be paid from Beta 4 moving forward. So what will happen to the blog as-is?

LNBlog Beta 3 will remain free but unsupported, at least to an extent, and will remain here for anyone who wishes to download and/or modify it for their needs. I will still answer questions in this thread for whoever still wishes to use it when I can, but future updates will be with XI Blog Beta 4 and above.

I'm aware of a few bugs that affect the blog right now and will provide an update here to fix them in the near future. Any other issues that affect functionality with this version will be fixed when and where possible, but a majority of my time and efforts will be shifting to the new paid version.

I know that this is a big change, and it may come quite sudden but there was and is a lot of behind-the-scenes discussions and planning going on. This change allows me to make a better guarantee that the blog and other products I'm developing (not to mention what the other two guys are doing) will get the full attention, effort, and support they deserve, and to provide a more stable foundation for your sites should you chose to go with XenFluence and our products.

I hope you guys understand, and thank you for your support since the beginning. :)

For those of you who have donated previously, please be on the lookout for a message from me in the near future.

I have no problem with that, will you be having a new thread with more details for the paid version on xenforo?
At this time we'll probably announce everything on our own site, but when Beta 4 is ready to be sold, I'll update this thread (and the related Twitter account). :)

We still have a bit more work to do before we're fully open, so it won't be until after the Thanksgiving holiday before we start to make more announcements.

David - sounds like a good collaboration - and I've no problem with paid as I was more than willing to donate (I'd already been paying a license renewal for IP.Blog anyway ... (y)).

Any ideas on pricing for the blog add-on yet?

Personally I'm migrating from IP.Board this coming weekend so probably won't be ready to install and transfer blog content for a few weeks yet, so will beta 4 be available fairly soon?

Cheers,
Shaun

Oh, and one more thing, I don't have any further questions just now ... :ROFLMAO:

I do have a figure, but I'm going to refrain from posting it should it suddenly be taken as the official statement by some people as is usually the case with estimates, odd as it is. ;)

I can't say for sure precisely when Beta 4 will be available; I'm currently hard at work on something else that has taken priority and is crucial for us being able to launch fully. When that is complete, you should see Beta 4 come out fairly soon after. A lot of things were changed with the planning of this new venture, so many things were put on the chopping block and will be in XI Blog 1.1. I'm hoping that I can count the blog as 1.0.0 stable by the end of the year and start the real, "fun" work on 1.1. :)

Okay, great. Good luck with the new venture - it can only mean good things for us XF customers if you're joining forces to take your add-ons/coding more seriously - should lead to some good solid companion products for our XF boards. (y)
