Hi Xon,

This is great! My only issue is that when users leave the pc, its still running in the background so it will say a user was active in a thread "a moment ago". Not a big issue however is there anyway to fix this?

Hello,

I missed the email notification for this thread, and after that XF doesn't send additional email notifications. For reliably support, please open a ticket on my site in the future.

Hi,

What I haven't been able to get working is for a regular registered user to see a live update.

The update counter is working correctly, and conversations too, but I haven't managed to get the threads working.

I enable these permissions for the admin and I can see live threads, but when enabling the same permission for a registered user, it doesn't work.

Am I missing something?

Why are there 2 options?

You need to either opt the forum to have live-threads by default (nodes => forum in question => advanced options), or use the thread tools dropdown to enable live threads for just that thread. This is what the 2nd permission is for.

Just to double check, I figued "enable live updates for thread" is to allow permission to manually create live threads, per thread. So almost like a moderation option, so this;

To test my understanding, I revoked permissions via admin usergroup, my user (admin) and the forum;

... But I can still see the 'Start live thread' option. The same is true when I mark 'never' for "enable live updates for thread"

It's made me doubt my understanding of that option. Would you mind kindly confirming I understand correctly? Is it to allow the option to start/enable a live thread manually, or is it something else?

I only enable this feature for 90 minutes (football/soccer match) every week or so when the post volume is there to, so it's taking me a little bit of time to test/play.
