A quick peek at fora.com 's modified Xenforo community software

Odd about Acura World...the number of total messages doesn't exactly jive with what their individual forum totals add up to for posts. The entire landing page for the site contains threads with no replies. To me, that says the forum is dead.

Yet there's Acurazine, which has a lot of activity but, alas, is hosted by a company I don't like (scroll down to the bottom). Another forum, mdxers.org, is also with VerticalScope but has activity. There is also TSXclub hosted at Verticalscope, which I've had to visit a few times. The problem with that forum is that the TSX hasn't been sold since 2013, so most of the content is older, and getting current answers is difficult.

One thing I noticed VS doing is registering domains and creating forums for upcoming car models. They are gambling on owners flocking to them and generating ad revenue. They get a little activity, but not like the older forums that have been around since the 2000s.

Fora's threaded threads (nested replies).

Yep with nested comments that make the page we view look bad.
Dude, calm down, the page looks good, and there are a lot of people interested in such an addon. Since 2013 there are a lot of suggestions about nested comments because it's convenient. If you don't like it, don't use it.

I think they may have been referring to proboards.com at least I was.

This is pretty old style.

I'm impressed that it's taken this long for the community to sponsor a threaded view, given how long and how much it's been requested. Awesome to see this approach - I wouldn't call it a new approach (more like bringing back a very old one!), but I would call it refreshing and certainly different for a typical XF forum.

We looked at it like "bringing conversation back to forums". It's something I've wanted for a long time. It was just a matter of finding the right developer to make it happen. Phase one is finished and frozen except for bug fixes (none found in last few days).
