But here I disagree strongly. Most users are not familar with Markdown. If your Forum is close to tech, IT or somewhat else you may be right. But in general I strongly disagree. Please ask in your friendzone and family who knows markdown to get the view.

To have the option, is fine. To make Markdown knowledge as mandatory to format your posts will end up in non formatted posts.
