I think I'd like to see a separate time-limit filter - to stop the every 30 second/minute updates.  And/or the ability to choose which updates you'd like to send to the sidebar and which ones you wouldn't lol  For example, if someone posts a message on your profile - I'd like those NOT to be displayed in the sidebar
