Not a bug Group user title does not override

Hi,
this user has the group "Programmierer" and user title override is on but he still gets the normal usertitel. Did I do something wrong or is this a bug?

They are likely the same cause.

These are the groups of the user with the respective priorities


The highest group is programmer, so the user should see the title?
But if you have a look here you see the user have the title Lehrling

I removed the permission for "Edit custom title" and now the user gets the title
the user had not previously entered a custom title

That permission is only over editing the title -- it wouldn't affect the display.

It's possible that something might have triggered a user cache rebuild though, as that could trigger a recalculation of this. We have seen add-ons in XF1 that were bugged and broke this. Can you reproduce this for any other users? If so, does rebuilding user caches in the tools section resolve the issue? (Do also confirm that they don't have a custom title set for the user -- that will always override.)

I am running into the same issue on 2.3.3.

The user cannot edit their custom title.
The user does not have a custom title set.

It is reverting to "Member" (the only user title entry) and not respecting the user group's "Use the following user title:" setting.

Aside from "Registered", they are only in 1 other user group with a user title set.

I've rebuilt user caches and this does not reassign their user title from "Member".

Edit: I've added another user to this group and it does respect the user title. So, I tried removing the user from the group and adding them again, then rebuilding the cache, and it still doesn't appear for them.
