Add a Thread to Navigation Menu

If one adds a thread to the navigation menu under a MENU HEADER, lets just say under What's New so that when someone click the What's new tab the thread displays as lets say "Sponsor"

Then when someone clicks on to the sponsor.nav link it obviously defaults to the Home of Forum tab after the click.

Is there an addon, a mod or anything I can do to have the Thread remain under the "What's new" or other tab that I pick instead of defaulting back to Forums.

The reason I ask is if one makes a new tab called Board Links for instance and under that you have 5 links it defaults back to FORUMS and the 5 links disappear until the Board Links are clicked again. Somehow I would like to get those navigation links to sta there.

This is one way of doing it.

Create the navigation entry with a blank parent navigation entry.

Edit the forum_view template and add this at the top:

<xf:if is="$forum.node_id == 8">
    <xf:page option="section">navigation_id</xf:page>
</xf:if>

Change the 8 to the forum node ID.

Change the navigation_id to the navigation entry ID.

I also did a few custom things making my navigation pretty darn unique.

I have a navigation section I call EXPLORE and it does more than the Xenforo Navigation and the only thing I still can't get it this...




Trying to get that link when it's clicked to focus the tab below





And when the New Posts is clicked on this tab to stay focused there instead of reverting back to the Forums tab.


Been fooling around with everything but can't get it right



You can see below that our explore section uses the What's New Tab but has been customized to Explore




To have both New Posts links and ALSO THE NEW POSTS BUTTONS all focus to our Explore tab would be what is desired.


Any input on this?

I think it's probably a single template entry somewhere but its kinda stumping me.
