Add-on [AD Credits] What would you like to see in a credits add-on?

I think personally I would rather pay for something feature packed and disable any unused features, rather than pay for the main addon and then pay again for additional features for the addon like *******'s credits addon system is like...

Thanks for the input guys. If there is one thing our company does, it is take and apply feedback. Our product threads are always full of discussion and every feature request or bug reported is fixed right away or added to a list to which we knockout once a month or so. This is built for the users of the product, not us, so of course we will take any input given to us and fully consider the feasibility, and whenever possible, begin working on it if it is.

Also, having built the most comprehensive XenForo theme framework, we know how to manage features in a way that keeps the product slim yet utterly powerful. Bloat will not be a problem, nor will too little features. That much we can guarantee on anything we build.

Catering for small custom requests from even a small percentage of purchasers can quickly turn a quality addon into something that looks like a dogs breakfast.

Every customer counts. Small custom requests wouldn't really make a big difference in add-ons. They are small and depending on what it is, It could give that add-on an extra punch.

and i certainly dont mind paying the full price even though i wont be using certain features

So by this are saying that XenForo should not sell 3 different add-ons. They should start charging everyone 310$ for the full product.
XenForo Forum,
Resource Manager,
Media Gallery

I think this would not be a good business practice. Many customers are not interested in the Resource Manager and the Media Gallery. So why would they want to pay 310 dollars for the full product when im fact they only want to use the forum script? The forum script only costs 140. Pay an extra 170$ just because "I dont mind paying the full price even though i wont be using certain features"

splitting things into how ******* has done it....ughhh...hope not. Infact the less learnt from certain developers practices the better.
His add-ons are excellent. The problem is that he has taken on too many add-ons. That has lowered and will probably destory him since his customer service has failed. The fact that he "copied" (which is not yet proven) is not the fact that will make him fail. Because most people(who can't code) wouldnt care if he copied other developers(mostly only the developers would care).
If the add-ons works great and there is great support. People will throw money at you. Regardless of what other people accuse him of. People just want a working add-on and move on. Not taking in consideration of real developers

I think personally I would rather pay for something feature packed and disable any unused features, rather than pay for the main addon

But the point here is that it's not just 1 main add-on. XenForo, Resource Manager and Media Gallery are 3 different complete add-ons

This is built for the users of the product, not us,

Exactly. "Us" are the forum admins who need developers to create things for "Our Vision" since "we" are the ones using it. Not you.

I have no idea who you are. I think you create forum styles for customers as I've never had any interest in styles as i've always used the default forum style and just change the color a bit. But by your words it makes me think you are serious about building not a good credits add-ons but an excellent one.

Time will tell.

Well I'd be quite happy with (the perfect setup :D):
- purchase/gift credits bundles (for volume pricing)
- option to purchase first, register next
- multiple purchase option
- use different currencies (with optional exchange)
- credits for forum activity (already extensively discussed)
- trophy criterias integration
- credits for trophies (per usergroup)
- credits for birthday
- salary option (per usergroup)
- credits for referrals (per usergroup)
- credits when referrals purchase credits :X3: (in fixed price or percentage per item and/or usergoup -- but that would be more for the shop addon)
- interests, either fixed amount or percentage (with minimal and maximal balance for interests)
- display option (link or balance) on registered users' navigation bar
- resources and user upgrades purchase/gift integration
- credits to enter usergroups (but isn't that like purchasing user upgrades with credits?)
- PayPal alternative(s) like Stripe, or [bd]paygate support
- all in one solution, active support, business integrity
- pricing and branding removal (way) under $500 :p

I know several were already listed but see it more as my vote for these features :)

It would be great to see the following feature:
- credit transactions between users (users can send users credits with a reason/note attached)
- transaction history of each user

How about...
- users being able to purchase credit points using bitcoin
- users should be able to set up their receiving bitcoin address in their account linking to an external wallet
- purchase advertisement space using bitcoin

I don't know if anyone already asked this or if i have just overseen....

I would like to have shop items or products defined for specific usergroups only.

exampe:
I have a product that has initially to be paid with real money (paypal) but an extension is payable with earned credits.
So after the first transaction the user will be put in a special usergroup that makes the other products visible.

I guess this can't be too difficult...isn't it ?
That would make the system nearly perfect.

I already offered to fund some of this, and sorry if I am repeating things, but:
  • Selling items either back to the shop for a discounted price, or to others.
  • A specific "shop" tab.
  • Being able to "use" certain items.
  • Being able to merge items, or mix and match items to create other items.
Obviously this is more for digital items and in a gaming capacity, but I think it would be an interesting dimension to items.

Mind creating a request at audentio.com? We might be able to do this for a bit of funding. :)
