I think the best way to go about it would be to leave a notice about the upcoming merger. Let them discuss it, then plan for the merger to happen, at which point you can also plan when to shutdown the old board or archive it.

Even if they did remove that feature, it can still be fetched if this mod implements google search console integration, should be possible to also pull from bing & yandex webmaster tools. And it does appear to pull search terms from the local forum searches.

For tags, I would like to suggest to filter out the ones that would be deemed low quality or low demand and put those on a "do not create" blacklist for the addon to have the AI remember. Could be based on if the tag has sufficient data from wikipedia.
